North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is located in Durham, North Carolina and is the first liberal arts school founded for African-Americans. The university’s core mission is to prepare its students to become effective leaders through intellectual and professional development.

NCCU was founded in 1910 and currently has a student body of approximately 8300. A wide variety of degree programs are offered in fields such as biology, business, education, english, history, math, nursing, physics, and sociology. This is only a small sampling of the many program tracks available at North Carolina Central.

Becoming an NCCU Eagle means commiting to personal enrichment and providing oneself a great opportunity for learning, achievement, and preparing for the future. The university offers many clubs and organizations for recreation and leisure as well as networking and expanding one’s interests.
