63% of NCSSM graduates go on to pursue career fields in science or math. NCSSM provides education each year to 680 North Carolina juniors and seniors with 90-95% of NC counties being represented at any one time. Average class size is approximately 20 students and the school enjoys a 10:1 teacher-student ratio. Impressively, 100% of the staff have no less than a master’s degree while 35% hold a doctorate.
Student life is both highly educational and fun-filled with more than 100 student clubs and student activities in play to keep things interesting. Of particular note, there is no cost to students for application or enrollment in the NCSSM. While science and math are an obvious foundation of the school’s focus, the NCSSM also has a rich Humanities department as well as music and art programs.
